Hardwood, Vinyl Plank, Tile and Carpet Installed in Houston Homes

Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate and carpet go into Houston homes, plus nearby Bellaire and West University Place. We read slab moisture and let materials acclimate before install day, so the finished floor lies flat and stays quiet underfoot.

Flooring We Install in Your Home

Flooring Houston carries insurance on every job and is in business 25+ years. Each project, from a single bedroom to a whole first floor, is backed by our 1-year workmanship warranty on all installations. The work covers hardwood flooring, luxury vinyl plank and luxury vinyl tile, tile flooring, laminate flooring, carpet installation, carpet tile, vinyl composition tile and stair flooring. Describe how each room gets used and we will suggest the materials that hold up there.

  • Hardwood Flooring

Solid and engineered hardwood chosen for your subfloor, acclimated to your home and installed with the season's humidity in mind.

  • Luxury Vinyl Plank

Rigid-core and glue-down vinyl plank, installed over a tested, flattened subfloor so it stays tight and quiet through every season.

  • Tile Flooring

Porcelain and ceramic tile set over a leveled, crack-isolated slab, with grout and sealing finished before your busy season starts.

  • Laminate Flooring

Durable, wood-look laminate laid over a proper moisture barrier, with expansion gaps sized for the swing between damp summers and dry winters.

  • Carpet Installation

New carpet and pad, stretched tight so it stays flat through humid summers, with old flooring hauled away and seams kept out of your main paths.

  • Carpet Tile

Modular carpet squares set over a tested, level slab, so one stained or worn tile can be swapped out without redoing the whole room.

  • Luxury Vinyl Tile

Stone and ceramic looks in a softer, water-resistant vinyl tile, laid on a slab we test and level first.

  • Vinyl Composition Tile

Hard-wearing 12-inch vinyl composition tile for laundry rooms, playrooms and converted garages, glued to a slab we check for moisture first.

  • Stair Flooring

New treads, risers and nosing in hardwood, vinyl plank, laminate or carpet, measured step by step so your stairs match the floors around them.

What Shapes the Price of a New Floor

Two homes with the same square footage can get very different quotes. The gap usually traces back to the surface hiding under your current floor and how many corners, closets and doorways the plan includes. These are the things we weigh as we build your number.

We start with a phone conversation, then measure and inspect in your home. You get a written, itemized quote before any work is scheduled.

Material you choose
Solid hardwood, porcelain tile, luxury vinyl, laminate and carpet all sit at different price points, and each has thicker or thinner grades within it.
Condition of the slab or subfloor
Uneven concrete needs grinding or self-leveling compound, and a damp slab needs a moisture barrier. Wood subfloors sometimes need loose boards screwed down or soft spots replaced.
Removing what is there now
Pulling carpet and pad is quick. Breaking up glued tile or scraping old adhesive takes more labor and more haul-away.
Room shape and layout
Long open rooms go fast. Closets, angled walls, hallways and many doorways mean more cuts, more waste and more transitions.
Stairs and trim
A staircase takes longer than a flat room because every tread and riser is measured and cut on its own. Baseboards, quarter round and thresholds also factor in.
When the job lands on the calendar
Spring and the weeks before the holidays fill up fastest. Planning a little ahead gives you more choice of dates and gives materials time to arrive and adjust.

A Houston Flooring Company That Checks the Slab First

We are a Houston flooring installer, and most of what we have learned comes down to timing. Long humid stretches, heavy rain and air conditioning running most of the year all change how flooring behaves. A good floor is part product and part patience: letting it adjust, checking what is under it and choosing a start date that makes sense.

We keep our conversations plain. You will hear what we recommend and why, what it involves and what could change the plan. If we would choose a different material for your kitchen or a back entry, we will tell you, then do the job the way you decide.

How Your Flooring Job Runs

Most of the work that keeps a floor flat happens before install day. Here is the order we follow.

  1. 1

A phone call about your rooms

Tell us which rooms, how they are used, and when you would like the work done. We talk through materials and timing so you know what to expect.

  2. 2

    Measuring and checking the slab

We measure each room, take moisture readings and check the floor for flatness. You see what we found and what prep, if any, it needs.

  3. 3

    Delivery and settling time

Materials that need to adjust to indoor air are delivered ahead of install day and stacked in the rooms where they will go. We pick the start date based on the product and the weather.

  4. 4

    Install day and final look

We protect walkways, take up the old floor, prep the surface and install the new one. At the end we tour the finished rooms together, share a few care tips for the months ahead and leave the space swept and clear.

What is the best time of year to install new floors?

Most flooring can go in any time of year. What matters is giving the material time to adjust to your home's indoor air and checking the slab for moisture first. Spring and early fall are popular, so planning a few weeks ahead gives you more dates to choose from. If you want new floors before holiday guests arrive, start the conversation in late summer.

Which flooring holds up best to humidity?

Porcelain tile and luxury vinyl plank or tile handle moisture best and are good choices for kitchens, baths, laundry rooms and entries. Engineered hardwood is more stable than solid hardwood over a concrete slab. Laminate works well in dry living areas, and some newer products resist water better. We will match the material to each room.

Do I need to move my furniture before you arrive?

Clear out small items, breakables and anything inside cabinets or closets in the work area. We will talk through the larger pieces during your in-home visit so you know exactly what needs to happen before install day.

Will you take out my old flooring?

Yes. We remove old carpet, pad, tile, vinyl and laminate as part of the job and haul it away. Removal is listed as its own line on your quote, so you can see what it adds.

Can I stay home while the floors go in?

Most people do. We work room by room where we can, keep walkways covered and clean up each day. Tile removal is the noisiest and dustiest part, and we will tell you ahead of time which days that happens.

Do you install flooring on stairs?

Yes. Stair flooring is fitted tread by tread, with matching nosing so the edges look finished and stay secure. We can match stairs to new hardwood, vinyl, laminate or carpet in the rest of your home.

Is your work covered by a warranty?

Yes. We stand behind the way we lay your floor with a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installations. Should a seam lift or a transition loosen because of our work during that first year, phone us and we will come back out to look at it.

Why Homeowners Plan Their Floors With Us

A floor that looks right on install day can cup, gap or lift a few months later if it went down at the wrong time or over a damp slab. We plan the job so that doesn't happen.

We plan the date around the weather

Wood and laminate swell in sticky months and shrink when the air conditioning runs dry. We schedule delivery and installation so materials can adjust to your home first, then lock in.

We test before we lay anything

Concrete slabs hold moisture. We take readings and check for dips and humps before any product goes down. If the slab needs leveling or a moisture barrier, you hear about it before the quote is final, not halfway through the job.

Quotes broken into clear pieces

Removal, prep, materials, trim and transitions each get a separate entry. Nothing is lumped together, so any part of the number is easy to question before you agree to it.

Honest advice on materials

Some rooms are a poor fit for solid hardwood, and we will say so. If luxury vinyl plank or tile makes more sense near a back door or in a laundry room, we explain why and let you decide.

Your home kept livable

We cover walkways, keep dust contained where we can and clear debris at the end of each day. Rooms we are not working in stay usable.
