Where We Install Floors
Most of our work is inside Houston itself, but we also spend plenty of time in the enclave cities that sit within its borders. That includes West University Place and Bellaire, plus the Memorial villages: Hunters Creek Village, Spring Valley Village, Bunker Hill Village and Piney Point Village. Many homes there are remodels or rebuilds where the owners want hardwood, tile or stair flooring that matches a bigger update.
To the north and east, we work in Aldine, Galena Park, Jacinto City and Cloverleaf. Here we often replace worn carpet or tired sheet goods with luxury vinyl plank, laminate or carpet tile that stands up to kids, pets and wet shoes. If your town is close by and not listed, give us a call and we will tell you plainly whether we can reach you.
What Shapes a Floor Job Around Houston
- 01
Slab foundations and moisture
Nearly every house in the metro is built on a concrete slab, and concrete can hold dampness long after it looks dry. We test the slab first, then pick an underlayment or vapor barrier that suits the material, so your hardwood, laminate or vinyl stays flat instead of cupping or lifting down the road.
- 02
Humidity and acclimation
Houston air stays damp for much of the year. Wood and laminate need time to adjust to your home before they go down, and we ask that your air conditioning run normally during that stretch. It is a small step that prevents gaps in winter and buckling in summer.
- 03
Storm season and timing
Hurricane season runs from June through November, and heavy spring rain is common too. If you want a new floor in place before family visits or the wet months, it helps to call early. We can schedule around the forecast and point you toward water-resistant options like tile or luxury vinyl tile for rooms that see the most risk.
- 04
Older pier-and-beam homes
Some older houses around the area sit on pier and beam rather than slab. These floors can flex or slope, so we look at the subfloor first and tell you what needs attention before anything new goes over it.
- 05
Neighborhood rules and permits
Swapping out a floor rarely needs a city building permit. Some neighborhoods do set their own limits, such as quiet hours for crews, where a work truck can sit and how old flooring has to leave the property. Mention anything like that when you call, and we will arrange start times and the haul-away to match.
